Examination

1.1 The mark in each theory paper shall be distributed as follows.
  1. Internal examination shall carry 30 marks (average of three examination) for a 100 marks paper which shall be assessed by the concerned teacher.
  2. The annual examination shall carry 70 marks for 100 marks paper which shall be evaluated by an examiner appointed by the University.
  3. The paper containing practical shall carry 20 marks and shall be assessed by the concerned teachers and marks shall be forwarded to the University. The examined practical papers shall be in the institute/ college at least two years after the examination for the inspection purpose by the University authority as and when required within the aforesaid period. The marks distribution for practical shall be as follows.
    Each practical papers
    Viva voce: 5 marks
    Experiments: 10 marks
    Day to day work and lab records: 5 marks
1.2 A candidate remaining absent in internal examination with prior permission from the principal in case like death in the family illness leading to hospitalization to be supported by discharge certificate from the hospital, may be allowed to take the examination at a later date, to be decided by the class teacher. In such case the discretion of principal shall be final. However, appearance in the three internal examinations is a precondition for appearing the respective annual examinations.
1.3 A there shall be a paper entitled project work in third year which shall be examined by one external and one internal examiner appointed by the University. The mark distribution for project work shall be as follows:
Project report: 70% viva voce: 30%
1.4 Eligibility for appearing in annual examination
1.4.1 No student shall be allowed to register for appearing in the annual examination unless he / she has good conduct (to be certified by the principal) and satisfies the attendance requirement as laid down in para 5.5.
1.4.2 In order to appear the 2nd year examination, a candidate must not have failed in more than two theory appears in the 3rd BBA examination.
1.4.3 In order to appear the 3rd year examination, a candidate must not have failed in more than two theory papers in the 2nd BBA examination.
1.4.4 A candidate failing in more than two theory papers in any annual examination shall be allowed to repeat all the papers of that examination in the subsequent year as a non collegiate candidate.
1.4.5 The candidate failing in two or less theory papers in first year and / or second year BBA examination shall be allowed to appear the final BBA examination however, his / her results shall not be published unless he / she passes in the first and second BBA examinations.
1.5 Attendances: Attendance shall be recorded in each theory and internal examination by the class teacher. The student should not remain absent without prior permission from the class teacher. However, a shortage of 25% may be considered by the class teacher in special cases like death in the family, long period of hospitalization or long period of absence for going out to represent the college in the University, the state or the national in sports and game, the examination committee may condons shortage by another 10% on production of adequate proof. Thus
  1. A student shall not be allowed to appear in the examinations if his / her attendance falls below 75%.
  2. In special cases as stated above minimum attendance required shall be 65%.
1.6 The student shall be required to register for the examination as per the rules of the University. Examination registration fees shall not be accepted unless a student has cleared all the college and hostel dues.
1.7 Admit cards shall be issued to the student at least 2 days before the commencement of examination provided they have satisfied the eligibility criteria stipulated.
1.8 Eligibility for appearing in the supplementary examination supplementary examining shall be held for theory papers only. All failed candidates shall be eligible for papering in the supplementary examination provided they have passed in the sessional / internal examination of the corresponding year.

Criteria for passing an examination:

1.1 To pass in a theory paper a student shall be required to secure a minimum a 30% mark in the Theory Examination and in Internal Examination separately. In order to pass in Annual Examination a student shall be required to secure a minimum of 40% marks in a paper and 45% in aggregate.
1.2 (a) In order to pass in the project report/ viva voce and / or thesis / viva voce a student shall be required to obtain a minimum of 60% marks.
1.2 (b) A student shall be declared to have passed an annual examination if he / she has passed in all the theory papers and internal / sessional examination of that year.

BCA Examination General

1.1 The marks in each theory paper shall be distributed as follows:
  1. Internal examination shall carry 20 marks (average of three examinations) for 100 marks paper which shall be assessed by the course teacher concerned.
  2. The annual examination shall carry 80 marks for 100 marks papers which shall be evaluated by an examiner appointed by the university.
  3. The Practical/Sessional and Project Report papers will be jointly evaluated by two examiners appointed by the University (one external and one internal).The project Supervisor/Guide may be chosen as the internal examiner for project evaluation.
  4. The marks distribution for evaluation of practical/sessional papers and project work shall be as follows:
    Day to Day work : 25%
    Viva-voce : 25%
    Experiment : 50%
1.2 A candidate remaining absent in internal examination with prior permission from the Principal in cases like death in the family, illness leading to hospitalization (to be supported by Discharge certificate from the hospital), may be allowed to take the examination at a later date, to be decided by the course teacher. Eligibility for appearing the Annual Examination.

No student shall be allowed to register for appearing in the annual examination unless he/she has good conduct (to be certified by the Principal) and satisfies the attendance requirement.

1.3.1 In order to appear the third year examination a candidate must not have failed in more then two theory papers in the First BCA examination.
1.3.2 In order to appear the Third year Examination a candidate must not have failed in more than two theory papers on the 2nd BCA examination.
1.3.3 A candidate failing in one or more theory papers in any annual examination shall be allowed to repeat all as back papers of that examinations in the subsequent year as a non-collegiate candidate, subject 2.5 of the regulation.
1.3.4 A candidate shall be allowed to appear 3rd year examination if he/ she fulfills the conditions of 1.3.2. & 1.3.3. However, his/her results shall not be published unless he/she passes in the First and second examinations.
1.4 Attendance: Attendance shall be recorded in each theory and practical classes by the course teacher. The student should not remain absent without prior permission from the course teacher. However, a shortage of 15% maybe condoned by the course teacher. In special cases like death in the family, long period of hospitalization or long period of absence for going out to represent the college in the University, the state or the Nation in Sports and game, the examination committee may condone shortage by another 10% on production of adequate proof. Thus,
  1. A student shall ordinarily not be allowed to appear in the examination if his/her attendance falls below 75%.
  2. In special cases as stated above minimum attendance required shall be 75%.
1.5. The students shall be required to register for the examination as per the rules of the University. Examination registration fees shall not be accepted unless a student has cleared all the college and hostel dues.

Criteria for passing an examination:

1.1 In order to pass in a theory paper of 100 marks a student shall be required to secured at least 28 marks out of 80 marks in the Annual Examination and 7 out of 20 in internal examination.
1.2 In order to pass in a practical paper of 100 marks a student shall be required to secure a minimum of 40 %.
1.3 In order to pass in the Project Report/Viva-Voce and/or Thesis/Viva-Voce a student shall be required to obtain a minimum of 40 marks.
1.4 In order to pass an annual examination a student shall be required to secure a minimum 40% in the aggregate of each annual examination.

Academic Calendar

Commencement of academic year and Annual examinations

  1. Teaching for all academic session shall ordinarily be held during July to April and all annual examinations shall ordinarily be held during April/ May.
  2. Hours of teaching, time devoted for theory paper carrying 100 marks shall be 4 period / week.
  3. A candidate shall be allowed to carry not more than 3 three theory papers as back / repeat in each year which he / she will have to clear within the next two yeas. Further, the candidate may be allowed to improve his / her performance in not more than 4 theory papers after completion of BBA to be availed once in two subsequent examinations.
  4. There shall be three internal examinations for each theory papers in each year for each annual examination.
